ELSA Malta forms part of a larger ELSA International network which is made up of more than 50,000 students represented through well over 350 law faculties all across Europe. ELSA International boasts the motto “A just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity“, to which ELSA Malta strives to deliver its utmost to uphold said motto.

ELSA Malta was founded in 1986 and is recognised as a student organisation by the Senate of the University of Malta. ELSA Malta’s main objective is the representation of all law students in the University of Malta.

Our organisation boasts various opportunities for the everyday student on campus. Throughout the scholastic year, ELSA Malta organises many different events for students of all ages to expand their legal knowledge about all different topics in the Law Course, with some events even being of good use to students of other faculties. This is mainly dealt with by our Seminars & Conferences section alongside our Academic Affairs section.

ELSA Malta incorporates also the ELSA Malta Law Review which is a sub-committee of the Executive Board of ELSA Malta, and in fact, works closely with its Academic Activities branch. The aims of the Law Review are to provide students with exposure and to publish their research; to provide opportunities for students and young practitioners to enhance their academic writing and editing skills; to provide greater accessibility to legal scholarship for practitioners, academics and students, and to publish research by academia.
